  • Running Late: Life in DC happens. If you’re a few minutes late, come in when you can—we’ll use the time we have. If you’ll be significantly delayed, just call or email.

In-Person Therapy and Online Therapy

Your choice, your schedule. We offer both in-person therapy at our Dupont Circle office and online therapy via secure video.

Many clients mix both. They come to the office some weeks, do telehealth others—depending on their schedule, the weather, or how they’re feeling. Your therapist can help you figure out what works best.

Online therapy is available throughout Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Most of our psychologists and licensed professional counselors are also part of PSYPACT, which allows them to see clients in 40+ states. That’s helpful if you travel frequently or relocate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

We’re an out-of-network practice, so we don’t bill insurance directly. However, many clients receive partial reimbursement from their insurance plans for out-of-network mental health services.

We submit a request for out-of-network reimbursement on your behalf directly to your insurance provider. Insurance coverage varies significantly by plan, so we recommend checking your out-of-network benefits before your first session.

How much does therapy cost?

Therapy cost varies by clinician. Since we’re out-of-network, you pay at the time of your session—though many clients receive partial reimbursement from insurance.

Therapy in Washington DC costs more than the national average. For clients who need more affordable options, the Capital Therapy Project offers reduced-fee individual and couples therapy with supervised clinicians.

Which Metro stop is closest?

We’re directly above the Dupont Circle Metro station (Red Line). Take the south entrance escalators to street level—our building is right there at 1350 Connecticut Ave NW.

Where do I park?

Metered street parking is available on 19th Street NW, Connecticut Avenue, and the surrounding blocks. Two-hour limits during business hours; free after 6:30 PM and on Sundays. Colonial Parking is directly across the street on 19th Street NW.

Do you offer evening appointments?

Yes. Many of our therapists offer evening sessions until 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday. These appointments fill quickly. Early morning appointments starting at 7:30 AM are often easier to book.

All sessions are by appointment only.

What happens in the first session?

Your first session focuses on getting to know you—what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and whether the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit.

There’s no pressure. New clients often feel nervous, and that’s completely normal.

Can I switch between in-person and online therapy?

Absolutely. Many clients come to our Dupont Circle office some weeks and use online therapy others, depending on their schedule. Flexibility is built in.

Do you work with young adults?

Yes. Many of our clinicians have particular expertise working with young adults in their 20s and 30s — navigating life transitions, relationship issues, career stress, and the pressures of building a life in Washington DC.

Is your office accessible?

Yes. 1350 Connecticut Ave NW has elevator access to all floors, including Suite 800. If you have specific accessibility needs, let us know when scheduling.
